The Owner - Willy Cutlip
With more than 20 years of experience, Willy, owner and artist at Sleeping Tiger Tattoo, has earned a reputation as a trusted Las Vegas tattoo artist known for creating custom tattoos that combine bold design, technical precision, and artistic originality. Specializing in illustrative tattoos, neo-traditional tattoos, bold color tattoos, and black and grey tattoos, Willy works closely with every client to create one-of-a-kind pieces that are both meaningful and built to last.
Willy began his tattoo career with an apprenticeship at Studio 21 Tattoo in Las Vegas, where he developed the strong technical foundation and respect for the craft that continue to define his work. He later tattooed at Bad Apple Tattoo in Las Vegas, refining his style and expanding his experience before opening Sleeping Tiger Tattoo, where he focuses on delivering high-quality, custom tattooing in a welcoming, client-focused environment.
Before becoming a professional tattoo artist, Willy spent years developing his skills across multiple artistic disciplines, including illustration, painting, drawing, and mixed media. That diverse background continues to influence every tattoo he creates, allowing him to blend fine art principles with traditional tattoo techniques. His work is recognized for bold compositions, vibrant color palettes, expressive linework, and timeless black and grey designs, making him a sought-after artist for clients looking for custom tattoos in Las Vegas.
Outside of the studio, Willy is an active member of the Las Vegas art community and regularly participates in live painting events with I.S.I. at AREA15. These events allow him to continue exploring new creative ideas while connecting with fellow artists and sharing his passion for visual art with the public.
